Atrys obtains in its IMOR center the accreditation of excellence JCI

Atrys Health (ATRY), a global company that provides precision medical diagnosis and treatment services and a pioneer in telemedicine and state-of-the-art radiotherapy, has obtained the Joint Commission International certificate for outpatient care at its Atrys-IMOR centre, considered the highest quality seal in the world in this category in the healthcare sector, after passing an exhaustive evaluation of its quality standards.

The Joint Commission International (JCI) is the most experienced and prestigious healthcare accreditation organisation in the world, dedicated for more than 50 years to improving the quality and safety of healthcare organisations. Obtaining this certification entails continuous compliance with the highest standards and good health practices.

Atrys-IMOR, Atrys' monographic oncology centre located in Barcelona, is currently the second centre with this certification in the outpatient sector in Spain, demonstrating the high standards required to obtain it. The gold seal is a reflection of the organisation's commitment to offering patients safe and effective medical care. The evaluation process, which has involved the entire organisation and is aimed at continuous improvement, will be repeated every 3 years to guarantee the validity of the certified quality standards.

The rigorous audit, conducted by the JCI team, assessed ambulatory care standards related to a variety of areas, ranging from international patient safety goals, patient assessment and care, anaesthesia and surgical care, medication management, patient and family education and quality improvement, infection prevention and control. It has also assessed governance and leadership, facilities management, staff qualifications and education, and information management.

Upon receiving the accreditation, Joel Roos, MD, MBA, MHCDS, CPE, vice president, International Accreditation, Quality Improvement and Safety, Joint Commission International, applauded Atrys-IMOR for being an organisation committed to improving patient safety and quality.

An international reference model

Atrys-IMOR is one of the 6 monographic centres that currently make up the Atrys Oncology Network in Spain, Switzerland and Portugal, offering oncology patients a comprehensive response, with the best specialists and the most advanced resources available for diagnosis and personalised treatment, tailored to each patient.

Through a networked care model, Atrys' team of pathologists and oncologists share protocols and jointly assess each case in the international tumour committees that take place every week. In 2021, the company carried out more than 300,000 oncology procedures in its various monographic centres.
